As the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 approach, speculation over the Chief Ministerial candidate has intensified. While the Mahagathbandhan has officially declared Tejashwi Yadav as their CM face, the NDA was reportedly considering several options.
On October 29, BJP leader Amit Shah addressed an election rally in Begusarai, clearing all confusion regarding the NDA’s CM face. He stated,
"In Bihar, the CM position is occupied by Nitish Kumar, and in Delhi, the PM position is held by Narendra Modi. There’s no vacancy here or there."
During his rallies, Shah also took sharp jabs at the opposition leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and Sonia Gandhi. At a public meeting in Darbhanga, he highlighted BJP’s focus on youth representation, stating that while NDA has fielded many young candidates, the Mahagathbandhan has not. He added that Lalu Yadav wants his son Tejashwi to become CM, and Sonia Gandhi seeks to position Rahul as PM, but these posts are not vacant.
Shah further criticized the opposition, labeling the Mahagathbandhan as a ‘Thagbandhan’ (alliance of fraudsters) and accusing Lalu of involvement in corruption related to fodder, coal, and land scams. He also highlighted Congress’ alleged role in ₹12 lakh crore corruption cases and claimed that the opposition is attempting to undermine the legacy of former CM Karpoori Thakur, who was honored with the Bharat Ratna by PM Modi.
Shah’s statements aim to consolidate NDA’s narrative and underline BJP’s strategy for the upcoming Bihar elections, emphasizing leadership stability, anti-corruption, and youth engagement.
