The Election Commission of India has officially declared the schedule for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. As per the announcement made by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, voting will take place in two phases -- November 6 and November 11, while the final results will be declared on November 14.
Zero Tolerance on Law and Order
The Commission has emphasized that law and order will be a top priority this election season. All district officials and law enforcement agencies have been instructed to follow a strict zero-tolerance policy against any form of violence or disruption. A special monitoring cell has also been formed to closely track and respond to fake news or misinformation circulating on social media platforms.
17 New Initiatives for Voter Convenience
In a bid to ensure smoother and more secure elections, the Commission has introduced 17 new voter-friendly initiatives across the state. One of the most notable changes is the mobile phone management system. Voters carrying mobile phones to polling booths will be required to deposit them outside before entering the booth. The phones will be returned immediately after voting to maintain privacy and order at polling stations.
Voter Statistics for Bihar – 2025
According to the Election Commission’s data as of September 30, 2025, Bihar has a total of 74.3 million registered voters, including:
Male Voters: 39.2 million
Female Voters: 35.0 million
Transgender Voters: 1,752
Senior Citizens (85+ years): 404,000
Differently-Abled Voters: 720,000
Centenarian Voters (100+ years): 14,000
First-time Young Voters (18–19 years): 1.63 million, with 1.4 million voting for the first time
Service Voters (armed forces, government personnel): 163,000
