IMD Issues Rain and Hailstorm Alert for Uttar Pradesh, Weather to Remain Unsettled for 5 Days

Although the monsoon season is drawing to a close, the weather in Uttar Pradesh continues to remain volatile. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh alert warning of heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and hailstorms across multiple districts over the next 5 to 6 days.

The forecast is attributed to an active Western Disturbance, which is expected to bring widespread rain to northwest India. In Uttar Pradesh, districts such as Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur are likely to experience strong winds blowing at 30 to 40 km/h, accompanied by thunderstorms and possible hail.

Cities including Noida, Lucknow, and Meerut may also see overcast skies with intermittent heavy downpours. According to weather experts, the rainfall could benefit kharif crops, but there’s also a risk of crop damage due to hail.

The IMD has advised residents to stay alert, especially farmers and those working in open fields. Local authorities have been asked to take precautionary steps to minimize any weather-related disruption or damage.

With changing weather patterns becoming more unpredictable, this alert comes as a timely reminder for citizens and officials alike to be prepared for sudden climate shifts.
