Indian Railways is rapidly transforming from a domestic manufacturer into a global exporter, powered by indigenous technology. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently announced that the next version of the Vande Bharat train, dubbed Vande Bharat-4, will debut within the next 18 months. This new train will meet the highest international standards and showcase cutting-edge advancements.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of the 16th International Railway Equipment Exhibition at India Expo Centre, one of the world’s second-largest rail fairs. Running until October 17, the exhibition features over 450 companies from more than 15 countries under the theme “Future-Ready Railways,” highlighting the latest innovations in rail technology and products.
Additionally, the Railway Minister revealed ambitious plans to build dedicated passenger corridors spanning 7,000 kilometers by 2047. These corridors will be engineered to support high speeds ranging from 320 to 350 kilometers per hour and will be equipped with completely indigenous signaling systems and state-of-the-art operation control centers.
This bold initiative aims to modernize India’s railway infrastructure significantly and position the country as a formidable competitor on the global rail stage, further solidifying India’s leadership in rail innovation and export.
