Nalanda, Bihar – Ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the Jan Suraaj Party has taken a grassroots approach by fielding local Panchayat and urban body representatives as candidates in Nalanda district. This move is seen as a strategic effort to strengthen its rural and urban presence.
The party has named Tanuja Kumari, Chairperson of the District Council, from Islampur, Poonam Sinha from Nalanda, and Kamlesh Paswan from Harnaut. From the city, former municipal mayor Dinesh Prasad will contest from Bihar Sharif. These selections reflect the party’s intent to connect directly with voters through familiar and locally active leaders.
Political analysts view this move as a departure from conventional ticket distribution, emphasizing a bottom-up leadership model. By promoting grassroots leaders, Jan Suraaj aims to bridge the gap between governance and the electorate.
Meanwhile, Nalanda’s differently-abled community is actively participating in strengthening democracy. On Monday, a voter awareness session was held under the leadership of district SVEEP icon Sudarshan Kumar, where participants pledged to spread the message of informed voting.
Speaking at the event, Kumar emphasized, “Every vote matters. When we vote responsibly, we contribute to a stronger democracy.”
Jan Suraaj's focus on community-driven leadership and inclusive participation could shift the political landscape in Nalanda ahead of 2025.
