A tragic incident unfolded on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway late Tuesday night when a truck carrying LPG cylinders collided with a chemical tanker near the Sawarda flyover. The impact triggered an immediate blaze, turning the area into a scene of chaos and destruction.
Following the collision, cylinders began exploding one after another, with loud blasts echoing through the night. The fire quickly engulfed nearby vehicles, resulting in five vehicles being completely destroyed. The smoke and fire severely disrupted traffic on the busy highway for several hours.
Rescue operations continued until around 3 AM, with firefighters battling intense flames. During the cleanup, police recovered a red cloth bundle from the scene containing charred bones and ash-like remains. These have been sent to SMS Hospital’s mortuary for forensic testing. Authorities stated that only after FSL analysis will it be clear if human remains were found.
Meanwhile, the driver and cleaner of the tanker remain missing, prompting an ongoing search operation. Preliminary reports suggest human error and potential traffic violations may have contributed to the disaster. Local administration has initiated a detailed investigation into the accident.
