Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Chief Minister Mayawati addressed a grand rally in Lucknow, where she spoke on several key issues. She lauded the current government led by Yogi Adityanath while sharply criticizing opposition parties, particularly Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav.
Mayawati accused the previous SP government of withholding funds meant for the maintenance of Kanshiram Memorial, stating that the current BJP administration has properly utilized these resources. “During SP rule, neither Kanshiram’s legacy nor his memory was respected. Now, after losing power, they suddenly remember him,” she added.
She also alleged that the SP displayed a double standard, showing no concern for Kanshiram or the PDA (Panchayati Raj Dalit Adhikar) slogan while in power, calling their claims hollow and warning voters to be cautious.
Appealing to party workers, Mayawati urged them to strive for a full majority government under BSP to ensure social and economic justice. She criticized caste-based parties like Congress and SP for exploiting Dalits and accused Congress of disrespecting key leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Kanshiram.
Addressing rumors, Mayawati clarified that BSP has no ongoing talks with Azam Khan or his family, urging Dalit voters to stay away from selfish and corrupt leaders.
Expressing concern over rising violence and religious tensions in the country, she called for mutual respect among all communities. She assured that under BSP leadership, employment opportunities would increase in Uttar Pradesh, reducing migration.
Her nephew Akash Anand also praised Mayawati for continuing Kanshiram’s unfinished mission and predicted a strong comeback for BSP in upcoming elections.
