India’s monsoon season is drawing to a close, with weather patterns shifting across much of the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), most regions are now unlikely to receive significant rainfall.
In its latest forecast issued on October 13, the IMD placed Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand in the “green zone”, indicating minimal to no rainfall in these states for the time being.
As the monsoon weakens, meteorologists report a noticeable drop in temperatures, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, where early mornings and evenings are beginning to feel chilly. This change signals the gradual arrival of the winter season.
Health experts are advising citizens to take precautions during this transitional weather. Children and the elderly, in particular, may be more susceptible to cold-related health issues as temperatures continue to fall.
With the rainy season retreating and cooler conditions settling in, the coming weeks could see a further drop in temperatures across northern and central India. Residents are encouraged to stay updated with local weather alerts and prepare for the seasonal shift.
