NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang Reaffirms Commitment to H-1B Visa Sponsorship Amid U.S. Policy Changes

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has reassured employees that the company will continue to support H-1B visa sponsorships and will bear the full cost of application and processing. In a letter shared with employees, Huang emphasized the critical role immigrant talent plays in the company’s innovation and global success.

“As an immigrant myself, I understand firsthand how opportunities in America can change lives,” Huang wrote. “NVIDIA’s growth and achievements would not have been possible without the brilliance of people from around the world. Immigration has shaped who we are.”

Huang also underlined the importance of legal immigration in maintaining America’s leadership in technology and innovation. He added that NVIDIA remains committed to building its workforce with exceptional global talent, regardless of policy headwinds.

His message comes shortly after President Donald Trump signed an executive order on September 19 imposing stricter regulations on the H-1B visa program. The new policy raises the visa application fee to $100,000, aiming to prioritize U.S. citizens for jobs. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick backed the move, saying it would discourage companies from relying on foreign labor.

However, the policy has sparked legal backlash. Several unions and academic organizations have filed lawsuits, calling the fee increase "unprecedented, unreasonable, and unlawful." They argue the President lacks the authority to unilaterally alter immigration law and warn that exceptions could lead to favoritism and misuse of power.

As the debate intensifies, NVIDIA’s stance stands out — championing diversity and global collaboration in the face of tightening immigration rules.
