India’s defense technology is scaling new heights as the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) embarks on a groundbreaking project that could redefine the future of air combat. The organization has initiated the development of a system designed to make Indian fighter jets capable of “jam-proof” flights, ensuring unmatched stability and precision even under hostile electronic warfare conditions.
Under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) program, DRDO has invited industry partners to collaborate in designing and developing a “Jam-Tolerant Geared Rotary Actuator.” This highly advanced actuator will play a vital role in enhancing the operational reliability of fighter aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft.
The new system aims to eliminate one of the biggest vulnerabilities in modern aerial warfare—jamming or signal disruption. Once deployed, it will ensure that no external interference or technical glitch can compromise the control, performance, or maneuverability of India’s combat aircraft.
With this innovation, Indian fighter jets will be equipped to maintain stability, accuracy, and safety even in the toughest combat environments. Beyond strengthening India’s defense capabilities, this initiative will serve as a major deterrent to adversaries by guaranteeing superior flight control and operational dominance.
This step by DRDO reflects India’s growing self-reliance in defense technology and its determination to lead the way in next-generation aerospace systems.
