New Delhi: India continued its dominance in the second Test against West Indies, finishing Day 2 in complete control. After a commanding batting display, Indian bowlers began to dismantle the visiting side’s top order.

Resuming the day in a strong position, India declared their first innings at 518/5. Yashasvi Jaiswal dazzled with a fluent 175, narrowly missing out on a double century due to a run-out caused by a miscommunication with Shubman Gill, who remained unbeaten on 129.

West Indies’ reply got off to a shaky start as John Campbell fell early in bizarre fashion. A brief resistance came from Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze, who added 66 runs. However, a sudden collapse saw them slump from 87/1 to 107/4, putting them under pressure.

At stumps, Shai Hope and Tevin Imlach were holding on, but with a 378-run deficit, West Indies face an uphill task on Day 3. For India, disciplined bowling and patience could be the key to sealing the advantage.
