India’s Under-19 cricket team produced an outstanding performance in the ongoing second Youth Test against Australia Under-19. The visiting side has managed to dismiss four Australian batsmen for just 19 runs in their second innings, putting significant pressure on the hosts. This match is part of the two-Test Youth Test series that began on October 7.
Australia won the toss and chose to bat first but could only manage a modest total of 135 runs in their opening innings, with Alex Lee Young top-scoring with 66 runs. India’s bowlers Henil Patel and Khilan Patel shared the spoils, each taking three wickets.
In response, India scored 171 runs in their first innings, gaining a 66-run lead. Australia’s second innings got off to a shaky start, losing their first two wickets without adding a run, both dismissed by Henil Patel. Captain Will Malajczuk also struggled, scoring just 5 before being dismissed by Uddhav Mohan.
Currently, Australia stands at 19 runs for 4 wickets, trailing India’s first innings score by 47 runs. With this dominant position, India U19 is on the verge of sealing the series by winning the second Test. Their goal is to quickly take the remaining six wickets and wrap up the match.
India had already taken a strong lead by winning the first Youth Test by an innings and 58 runs, boosting the team’s confidence heading into this decisive encounter.
