As Bihar gears up for the 2025 Assembly Elections, political momentum is building, and bold claims are being made. One such declaration has come from Mukesh Sahani, the chief of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), who stated that the INDIA alliance will form the next state government, and he is set to become the Deputy Chief Minister.
Sahani made this assertion following a crucial meeting held at the residence of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, where key members of the INDIA alliance gathered to discuss seat-sharing arrangements. The high-level meeting lasted nearly five hours and reportedly brought most seat distribution issues close to resolution.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Sahani confidently remarked, “Speak positively -- we will form the government, and I will be the Deputy Chief Minister.” He added that a formal announcement regarding seat sharing will be made in the next couple of days through a press conference.
The Election Commission of India has already assessed election preparations in the state, prompting both major alliances -- INDIA bloc and the NDA -- to accelerate internal discussions on candidate selection and seat allocation.
Sahani further revealed that unresolved concerns among alliance partners have been addressed and consensus has been achieved. The upcoming meeting is expected to finalize the list of candidates, signaling the INDIA bloc’s readiness to enter the final phase of its campaign.
The INDIA alliance in Bihar is led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and includes parties like Congress, VIP, CPI(M), CPI(ML), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas faction), and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). Sahani’s public claim to the Deputy CM post also highlights the growing significance of VIP within the alliance’s framework.
As political heat rises in Bihar, attention now shifts to the upcoming press briefing where final seat distributions and candidate names are likely to be unveiled. With alliances now solidifying strategies, Bihar’s political landscape is firmly in election mode.
