Bhojpuri singer and actor Pawan Singh's political debut seems to have hit a roadblock, as personal controversies have overshadowed his electoral ambitions. Following public allegations made by his wife Jyoti Singh, Pawan announced that he will not contest in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
In a recent statement, Pawan's father Rambabu Singh confirmed that his daughter-in-law, Jyoti Singh, is now preparing to contest the elections herself. While her party affiliation and constituency are yet to be officially announced, political insiders suggest she may run from Karakat, the same region where Pawan Singh previously contested as an independent candidate during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but lost.
Earlier, there was speculation that Pawan would run as a BJP candidate in the state elections after officially joining the party. However, public fallout with his wife seems to have forced a change in plans. In a press conference, Pawan clarified that while he remains a "soldier of BJP," he didn’t join the party specifically to contest elections.
Meanwhile, Jyoti Singh recently met Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, sparking speculation that she may receive a ticket from the party. No official confirmation has been made yet.
While Pawan Singh appears to have paused his political journey, insiders claim he might be waiting for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections to make a stronger comeback. For now, all eyes are on Jyoti Singh and her next political move.
