A fresh twist has emerged in Bihar’s political arena as Prashant Kishor (PK) has strategically chosen Dr. Santosh Kumar to contest from the Tarapur constituency, setting up a direct face-off with BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary. The move has significantly altered the electoral equation in the region.
Dr. Santosh Kumar is a well-respected pediatrician by profession. He completed his MBBS from Bhagalpur Medical College and earned an MD from PMCH, Patna, where he was a gold medalist. His entry into politics brings a non-traditional face to the race, transforming what was earlier seen as a conventional party contest into a more unpredictable political battle.
The BJP, meanwhile, has decided to drop sitting MLA Rajeev Kumar Singh and instead back Samrat Chaudhary, making Tarapur a matter of personal and political prestige for the party.
For PK, this election is a chance to push his agenda of "new politics"—offering clean, issue-based leadership against the traditional machinery of legacy parties. The strategy signals a shift from identity and loyalty-driven politics to performance and credibility-based candidates.
All eyes are now on Tarapur to see whether Kishor’s political gamble pays off and whether Dr. Santosh can convert credibility into actual votes.
