New Delhi / Sambhal — Renowned celebrity hair stylist Jawed Habib has found himself at the center of a major crypto investment scam, allegedly worth between ₹5 to ₹7 crore. Police from Sambhal district in Uttar Pradesh conducted a raid at his Delhi residence on Wednesday, only to find him absent. Authorities claim he is evading questioning.

According to police sources, 32 FIRs have been registered against Habib so far. His son, Anas Habib, and an associate named Saiful have also been implicated in the alleged fraud.

The scheme in question was operated under the name Follicle Global Company (FLC), which promised investors returns of 50% to 70% on investments ranging from ₹5 to ₹7 lakh, supposedly through Bitcoin and Binance Coin trading.

In 2023, a promotional event for the scheme was held at the Royal Palace Venkat Hall in Sambhal, drawing in over 150 investors. Nearly two and a half years later, none of them have received any returns, police confirmed.

Authorities estimate the total fraud to be in the range of ₹5–7 crore. Given the scale of the case and Habib's high-profile status, a lookout notice has been issued to prevent him and his family from leaving the country.

Govind Kumar, station in-charge at Rayya Satti Police Station, stated:

"We’ve registered 32 FIRs. Summons were issued to Habib and his associates. His lawyer informed us that he is unwell due to heart issues and recently lost his father."

Pawan Kumar, representing Habib legally, added:

“We are cooperating fully with the investigation, but Mr. Habib's health doesn't currently allow him to appear.”

The case remains under investigation, with police suggesting more names could emerge as inquiries continue. The news has caused significant stir online, as Jawed Habib is a well-known public figure in India’s beauty and fashion industry.

If proven true, this case could go down as one of India’s largest crypto-related frauds involving a celebrity.
