India has strongly condemned the recent harsh actions taken by Pakistani security forces against protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). In a press conference on Friday, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs made it clear that Pakistan must be held accountable for the ongoing human rights violations in the region.

MEA spokesperson Randeep Goyal stated that India is closely monitoring the violent suppression of protests across various areas in PoK. He described the crackdown as a reflection of Pakistan’s oppressive policies and exploitation of regional resources.

So far, at least nine people have lost their lives in these protests, including three police officers. Additionally, the Pakistani administration has imposed an internet shutdown and placed strict restrictions on media coverage, further intensifying concerns over freedom of expression.

Pakistan’s Federal Minister Ehsan Iqbal issued warnings to the demonstrators, a move that India views as an attempt to suppress democratic voices in the region.

India has called on the international community to pay urgent attention to these grave human rights abuses and demand accountability from Pakistan. The Ministry emphasized that the root cause of unrest is Pakistan’s illegal occupation and neglect of the local population.

Strategic Security Dialogues and Regional Developments

In parallel, India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval recently held talks with Canadian Security Advisor Thalia Drouin, focusing on counterterrorism and intelligence cooperation. Both countries expressed readiness to maintain ongoing dialogues on these critical issues.

Following approval from the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the Taliban’s Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit India from October 9 to 16, where discussions will likely revolve around Afghanistan’s humanitarian crisis and regional security.

Furthermore, U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed his participation in the ASEAN Summit slated for later this month in Malaysia. India is expected to announce its presence at the summit soon. The prospective meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Trump is eagerly anticipated by international observers.

Conclusion

The violent actions of the Pakistani military in PoK have once again drawn global attention to the troubled region. India not only condemns these acts strongly but also urges the global community to intervene seriously. This issue is poised to remain a significant focus of India’s foreign policy in the coming days.
