Rishabh Shetty’s highly anticipated film “Kantara Chapter 1” has taken the box office by storm, achieving remarkable success within just three days of its release. The movie has been met with enthusiastic acclaim from both audiences and critics, grossing over ₹150 crore in this short span and surpassing several major film releases.

According to box office tracking platform Sacnilk, the film earned a staggering ₹55 crore on its third day alone, bringing its total collection close to ₹163 crore, pending official confirmation.

The film had an explosive opening day, raking in ₹61.85 crore. This impressive sum included ₹19.6 crore from the Kannada version, ₹13 crore from Telugu, ₹18.5 crore from Hindi, and ₹5.25 crore from Malayalam markets. On its second day, “Kantara Chapter 1” collected ₹46 crore, with ₹13.5 crore from Kannada, ₹11.75 crore from Telugu, and ₹12.5 crore from Hindi audiences.

This release has already established itself as the highest-grossing Kannada film of the year on its very first day, overtaking the previous record-holder “Su From So” which earned ₹92 crore. It has also outperformed blockbuster films such as Salman Khan’s “Sikandar” (₹110 crore) and Ram Charan’s “Game Changer” (₹131 crore).

With this milestone, “Kantara Chapter 1” has become the fourth Kannada film to enter the prestigious ₹150 crore club.

The movie serves as a prequel to the 2022 superhit “Kantara”, which was made on a modest budget of ₹15 crore but went on to gross over ₹400 crore, cementing its status as an all-time blockbuster.

The film stars Rishabh Shetty alongside actors such as Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah. Its gripping story, direction, and performances have received widespread appreciation from viewers.

Industry trade analysts predict that the film’s successful run is far from over, with expectations that it could soon join the ₹500 crore club, setting even higher benchmarks for Kannada cinema.
