Ayodhya –
As the grand celebrations of Deepotsav 2025 draw near, the Ayodhya district administration has ramped up food safety efforts to ensure that the thousands of pilgrims expected in the city receive only safe and hygienic food.

Following direct instructions from the Chief Minister, District Magistrate Nitish Kumar has formed eight special monitoring teams tasked with inspecting food supplies and hygiene standards throughout the district. Five teams are operating under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) in each tehsil, while two additional teams are active within the municipal limits, led by the City Magistrate. Another high-level team, headed by Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety Manik Chandra Singh, is functioning from the district headquarters.

So far, 54 inspections have been conducted at various locations. Out of these, 34 raids resulted in the collection of 76 food samples. Authorities seized around 19,657 kilograms of food items, estimated to be worth ₹33 lakh. Among them, 167 kilograms of spoiled or adulterated items were destroyed on the spot, with an estimated value of ₹35,000.

Considering the anticipated crowd during the peak celebration days of October 19 and 20, additional food safety officers have been deployed from neighboring districts. Intensive inspections are scheduled for these dates.

The District Magistrate emphasized the importance of food safety during such major events. Local vendors, eateries, and hotels have been instructed to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food quality throughout the festival.

These efforts reflect the administration's commitment to a safe, clean, and joyous Deepotsav 2025 for both locals and visiting devotees.
