AI Cameras to Oversee Deepotsav 2025 in Ayodhya: Tech Meets Tradition
Ayodhya, India – Deepotsav 2025 is set to be a grand celebration of light, culture, and now, cutting-edge technology. For the first time ever, the festival will be monitored using Artificial Intelligence-powered cameras, transforming the event into a showcase of modern public safety measures.
Following the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh administration is implementing a Kumbh Mela-style surveillance system across key areas of Ayodhya. A total of 11 AI cameras have been strategically placed at high-traffic locations like Lata Chowk, Dharm Path, Ram Path, and Ram Ki Paidi.
These AI-enabled cameras are programmed to perform real-time crowd analysis, detect unusual activity, and alert security officials immediately in case of overcrowding or potential threats. The system has already undergone successful testing and is now ready to operate in full swing during the festival.
District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde emphasized that the technology will ensure round-the-clock vigilance. “The AI system will not just count the number of people but also track movements and generate instant alerts. It allows us to react swiftly to any situation,” he said.
This real-time data will help authorities manage crowd density, streamline entry and exit points, and respond faster to emergencies. The system aims to deliver a safe, disciplined, and well-coordinated experience for the lakhs of devotees expected to visit Ayodhya during Deepotsav.
The initiative underscores the state government's commitment to merging heritage with high-tech governance. By introducing AI surveillance into religious events, Uttar Pradesh is setting a new precedent in festival management across the country.
